Arturia Pure SUB is a software bass synthesizer built around three independent sound layers: Sub, Harmonics, and Texture. Each layer can be generated and shaped separately before being routed through a shared filter, effects chain, and output stage.
The instrument is designed for electronic bass production and covers sounds such as 808s, sub bass, Reese bass, and distorted or textured bass variations. Dedicated controls for the fundamental, harmonic content, texture, filtering, processing, and modulation provide detailed control over the resulting sound.
Pure SUB also includes an FX Rack, Sub Processor, Maximiser, flexible modulation system, MPE support, microtuning compatibility, 300 factory presets, and in-app tutorials.​

Software OverviewArturia Pure SUB separates bass synthesis into Sub, Harmonics, and Texture layers, allowing each section to be processed and routed independently. The Sub section provides individual level, phase, and pitch controls for the fundamental, while Sub Regen restores a clean, phase-stable version of the original fundamental to the low end after signal processing.
The Harmonics section provides Pressure and Reese engines for creating different types of harmonic content. Pressure includes a custom waveform editor for lower-density harmonic material, while Reese produces wider, high-density unison tones. A dedicated Pitch Envelope controls pitch movement independently from the amplitude envelope, and key-tracked EQ helps maintain consistent timbre across the keyboard range.
The Texture section adds additional sonic material through Texture and Corroder modes. Texture combines noise samples with Ring Modulation, AM, or Distortion, while Corroder provides Noise, Sine, Saw, and Square sources at fixed or key-tracked frequencies.
The shared filter provides more than 40 modes, followed by a Sub Processor with 33 processing modes, six shaping macros, and a global Amount control. A 12-slot FX Rack provides access to 18 effects, while the Maximiser offers Soft and Hard processing modes with EQ, compression, and multiband processing.
