Reading an OBD fault code is easy. Understanding why the ECU generated that fault code and using the available diagnostic information to find the real cause is the valuable skill.
This practical course takes OBD diagnostics beyond simple code reading and demonstrates how modern vehicle diagnostic systems actually work. You will learn how ECUs detect faults, how diagnostic algorithms use sensor and actuator information, and how technicians and engineers can use this data to systematically identify and repair vehicle problems.
The course uses worked diagnostic examples and realistic fault-finding exercises covering areas such as misfire detection, lambda and sensor diagnostics, injector faults, poor fuel economy, diagnostic software, and engineering-level fault analysis.
