Description
TheAdvanced Programming Practice course introduces students to multiple programming paradigms and their practical implementation usingJava and Python. The course develops an understanding of the hierarchy, characteristics, and suitability of different programming paradigms, enabling learners to select appropriate approaches for solving programming problems. It covers structural, procedural, object-oriented, parallel, declarative, logic, functional, database, network, concurrent, symbolic, automata-based, and event programming paradigms. In Java, students learn object-oriented concepts such as abstraction, encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism, interfaces, packages, branching, iteration, arrays, functions, multithreading, JDBC, MySQL connectivity, and graphical user interface development using Swing and MVC concepts.
The course also introduces advanced Python programming paradigms, including functional programming with pure and higher-order functions, logic programming, parallel programming using shared and distributed memory, multiprocessing, and network programming using TCP/UDP sockets and client-server models. Further, students explore formal and symbolic programming through finite automata, DFA and NFA, algebraic manipulation, calculus, and event-driven programming using libraries such as Automaton, SymPy, and Tkinter. The course emphasizes hands-on application through Java- and Python-based project dissertations, allowing learners to integrate different programming paradigms to develop practical solutions. Through continuous learning assessment, project-based learning, reports, and viva voce, students progressively develop their abilities to remember, understand, apply, analyze, evaluate, and create programming solutions. Overall, the course aims to strengthen programming proficiency, problem-solving skills, computational thinking, and the ability to apply diverse programming paradigms effectively in real-world software development scenarios.
