Properties of graphs, Eulerian and Hamiltonian circuits, classical problems, trees, coluring, digraphs, matching
What you'll learn
⚡ Organize knowledge, definitions and theorems about graph theory
⚡ Completely understand the theory behind Eulerian and Hamiltonian cycles in graphs
⚡ Learn different theorem proving techniques
⚡ Learn about the classic problems of graph theory and solve some of them
⚡ Learn about map coloring
⚡ Find out what the marriage problem is and how to solve it
Requirements
❗ It is advisable to have a high school level of mathematics. I will present the remaining information that you will need in great detail. We will definitely be able to handle more complicated concepts.
❗ If you are familiar with matrices or the sum symbol, that's good, but if not - I will teach you everything
Description
This course bridges the gap between the basics of graph theory and advanced theorems, which require extensive knowledge.
If you've never had any exposure to graph theory before, or only had a very superficial one (e.g., three lectures), that's great. In this course, I'll show you everything from the very beginning, so you can organize the language we'll be using and build a solid foundation.
The first lectures might seem incredibly easy. That was my goal. However, around the middle of the course, the learning curve changes significantly. Then, our proficiency in basic concepts will help us with more challenging problems.
The course concludes with the topic of matching, which we cover in great detail, presenting analogies to other areas. This is the perfect place to continue learning selected topics in graph theory on your own. It's like learning mathematics in general. If you've mastered the elementary school material, you'll easily be able to tackle other topics.
Quizzes and tests await you at every step. Additionally, I've prepared a problem sets for each section. There are solutions available for all tasks so you can check your results. I'm sure this way you'll monitor your progress and immediately identify areas that require more work.
I believe that completing this course will allow you to see the world around you differently, open many doors, and give you the satisfaction of absorbing a significant amount of challenging knowledge. Let's start!
Who this course is for
⭐ Students who have trouble with graph theory due to the fast pace of the lecture or other difficulties
⭐ Professionals who need to learn this theory for applications (engineers, computer scientists)
⭐ People who feel the need to supplement their knowledge in an area that their educational path has omitted
