PSPaudioware PSP BBDelay is an analog-inspired delay and ambience processor designed around the sonic behavior of classic Bucket Brigade Device (BBD) technology. It recreates warm repeats, organic modulation, and the subtle imperfections associated with vintage analog delay circuits while adding modern controls for detailed sound shaping.
Inspired by a legendary 1980s BBD delay and ambience processor, PSP BBDelay models individual BBD chips, compander behavior, and analog circuit imperfections so that successive repeats can develop changing texture and character. The processing can range from conventional vintage echoes and ambient effects to more experimental delay treatments.
The plug-in combines delay, modulation, saturation, tone shaping, transient processing, ducking, and gating in a single processor. Multiple operating modes and synchronization options provide flexibility for both rhythmic and sound-design applications.
Software OverviewPSP BBDelay recreates the behavior of BBD-based analog delay systems while providing controls that extend beyond the limitations of vintage hardware. Its processing model includes individual chip behavior and adjustable compander alignment, allowing users to shape the character of the repeats from relatively clean to deliberately imperfect.
The delay engine supports Mono, Dual Mono, Ping-Pong, and Reverb modes, with delay times reaching 800 ms or 1600 ms when using the x2 mode. Time and Tempo Sync options can be used alongside analog-style delay speed control for rhythmic processing.
Additional modulation, stereo widening, saturation, filtering, transient shaping, ducking, and gating functions allow the delay response to be tailored for mixing, performance, and creative sound design.
