Quantastical Sound STRANG 2 is a subtractive synthesizer built around real-time convolution processing. Its core sound begins with an oscillator running through a convolution body while each note is played, making the acoustic body part of the voice rather than a sample that is simply triggered.
The convolution body can vary from note to note, giving repeated notes more natural variation instead of reproducing exactly the same result every time. The instrument combines this approach with additional sound-generating components, including a shadow layer, sub, string model, and SPARKLE.
STRÄNG 2.5 expands the instrument with sympathetic resonance, additional envelopes, sample-and-hold patterns, visual skins, preset-pack creation, and a larger factory library. These additions provide more options for shaping both the instrument's sound and its overall workflow.
The Sympathy section introduces a resonance behavior inspired by a piano with its sustain pedal engaged, allowing held notes to continue ringing through the body of subsequently played notes.​

Quantastical Sound STRANG 2 combines subtractive synthesis with real-time convolution inside each voice. Rather than treating the convolution body as a separate effect applied after synthesis, the body forms part of the sound-generation process itself.
