reFX Rippler is a software synthesizer built around modal synthesis, combining resonator-based sound generation with classic subtractive synthesis. Instead of relying primarily on samples, it uses banks of resonators to create a range of tones, from pads and strings to percussive and plucked sounds.
The synthesizer combines two independent layers with flexible resonator routing, allowing sound designers to build complex timbres through parallel or serial signal paths. Bi-directional energy transfer between resonators contributes to evolving tones that respond dynamically to playing.
