Understand software projects: SDLC, cloud, APIs, Agile, CI/CD & security - for non-technical PMs and BAs. No coding.

What you'll learn
Understand how software is actually built - from idea to code, testing, and release - without writing a single line of code
Decode the jargon in technical meetings: APIs, environments, pipelines, releases, rollbacks, incidents, tech debt and more
Manage IT projects with confidence: sprints and ceremonies, version control, CI/CD, monitoring, incident severity and release day
Read architecture diagrams, databases, networks and dashboards well enough to ask the right questions in any technical room
Requirements
No technical background needed - no coding, no IT experience. Everything is explained from the ground up in plain language.
Description
Have you ever sat in a technical meeting and felt the conversation slip away from you? APIs, environments, pipelines, rollbacks - the engineers keep talking, the decisions keep landing, and you are left nodding along. I built this course to fix that.
I have spent more than ten years in IT - first as a mainframe developer writing COBOL for banks, then managing more than sixty software implementation projects at TD Bank, leading TELUS Health's first cloud migration to Google Cloud, and most recently delivering AI products for a SaaS learning platform. I have stood on both sides of the table, and I learned one honest lesson along the way: technology moves too fast for anyone to memorize it all, and a project manager's real skill is knowing what is essential and what is noise.
In this course, I will show you how software actually works - in plain language, from the ground up, with story-driven animated lessons. You will follow real project scenarios from the first idea to release day, learning what every role does, how code becomes a product, where software runs, and what happens when things break at 2 a.m.
Here is what I will teach you: how software is built, from ideas and requirements to code, testing and releases. Agile without the buzzwords: sprints, ceremonies, boards, backlogs and estimation. The delivery pipeline: version control, environments, CI/CD and release day. What happens when things break: bugs versus incidents, severity levels and monitoring dashboards. The systems map: APIs, databases, networks and architecture diagrams. And quality and safety: testing, tech debt, security basics and user acceptance testing.
I will not teach you to write code. I will teach you to understand the room - so that when your engineers speak, you hear a plan instead of a wall of jargon. Join me, and let's take the first step together.
Who this course is for
New and aspiring project managers who want to break into IT and software projects
Experienced and traditional project managers moving into software, cloud, or AI projects
Business analysts, product owners, and delivery leads who work with engineering teams daily
Anyone who feels lost when engineers start talking - and wants to follow the conversation with confidence
